At the 300-foot beach, there is no boardwalk, but a pavilion includes outdoor showers, restrooms, an outdoor dining area and snack bar. Bathroom facilities are available with a changing area. The beach has a volleyball net. Three blocks west on Main Street, there are restaurants and sandwich shops. Nearby Allenhurst has shops, eateries and a bakery.
After 18 years in Point Pleasant Beach, Shore Antique Center moved to historic Allenhurst, New Jersey. The new location is a 14,000-square-foot renovated warehouse located at 413 Allen Avenue. Chris Myer, founder and proprietor of Shore Antique Center, and his wife, Rose O'Connor-Myer, purchased the building in November 2007 and have done extensive renovations to the former plumbing supply warehouse.
The building features wide open spaces, abundant natural light from original skylights, and hardwood floors. There are three overhead doors and loading docks located on various sides of the building for easy access to move larger pieces in and out. Additionally, home delivery is available.
Shore Antique Center features more than 25 merchants with a wide variety of antiques, art, home furnishings, and other items of collectible interest. Some of the exhibitors and vendors come from the former Point Pleasant Beach location including: Glenn Vogel (local ephemera, bottles, photos), Barbara Booz (postcards, Marine), Cress Vail (speciality Fashion & Jewelry) . Others are new, including Laurie Smith who features Vintage Fashion, Mark Stewart who sells Sports Related Collectibles and Bob Emmons who specializing in Lead Soldiers, Antique Tools and Advertising Signs.
